Long time fans of Philip Aaberg know his music reflects the landscape of Montana. They might also have noticed his feet dancing below the piano when they see him in concert. But not everyone realizes the breadth of his ability to play in so many genres of music. He often says “it’s all one music”. But rarely can an artist cover this kind of musical ground so well. Versatile! Also the name of the tractor holding up the top of the grain bin, the centerpiece of his studio “The Bin”, built in Chester, Montana just over a decade ago.
Ever since, Philip has been thinking about this recording, named as a celebration of the versatility of humans. After years on the road, years in the studio, years at the keyboard, you get to experience the versatility of this one human on one CD.
Songs include: O, Shenandoah, Solsbury Hill, Cabin Waltz, Fooled Around and Fell in Love, This Whole World, Dream Train (improv), Chicago Breakdown and How We Miss Them.
